Encore Capital Management is beginning construction work on new infrastructure that will support our highly-anticipated, mixed use community, Plantation Walk.  In one of the largest projects currently planned in Broward County, the $350-million development infuses resort-level hospitality throughout a walkable, seamlessly connected community of shopping, dining, entertainment, living and working.

At the former home to the Plantation Fashion Mall, the existing structures have now been demolished and crews removed more than 28,000 tons of concrete that comprised the one-million square foot antiquated mall.  With demolition completed, the team is now able to begin work on the infrastructure for this 21st century neighborhood.

“Residents who live and work in the community, who watched this property sit dormant for years, are excited about all the progress they are already seeing from our team,” said Arthur Falcone, CEO and Managing Principal of Encore Capital Management. “It’s time to bring in a new era of an enhanced lifestyle to the city. Our plans for Plantation Walk, which include retail, residential and office components, will do just that.”

Included in the infrastructure construction will be green spaces and walkways winding throughout the pedestrian-friendly property, plus gorgeous, lush new landscaping that will begin shaping the property’s exterior border.  The team will also be adding paver designs in roadways and crosswalks, water features, monument signage plus water and sewer upgrades and new utility services.  This work will be the beginning of the creation of a vibrant, walkable downtown-live work and play lifestyle destination.

“The infrastructure construction is the next important piece of our plan and with this work, residents will begin to see even more significant changes to the site,” added Falcone.

The Offices at Plantation Walk, the  existing 160,000-square-foot Class-A office building,  is currently undergoing a complete renovation and modernization of its interior spaces and its utility systems after being stripped down to its bare shell.  The 2,600 parking space garage is also being fully renovated.  Crews are currently in the process of painting and installing new lighting, railings and elevators.  Additionally, the west façade of the 263-room, full-service Sheraton Hotel is undergoing renovations and remains open during remodeling.  The property will also include 700 luxury rental apartments under Encore’s “The Rise” apartment brand.
